Women’s Group

The Women’s Group meets regularly to share needs and concerns, extend mutual support and discuss ways of giving back to the communities in which they live. This group of women offer each other a safe place to connect about everyday issues- large and small. They support one another and inspire the best in all of us.

Grupo de Mujeres is specifically for Hispanic and Latinx women in Macon and Jackson Counties. The goals of this project are:
1) provide Hispanic and Latinx women in Macon and Jackson county with a safe, community space in which they can discuss issues facing their communities and build supportive relationships
2) identify and facilitate learning opportunities for Grupo de Mujeres members, including health and safety training (first aid, CPR), hands-on arts experiences, professional development classes (computer skills, English Language, culinary) and civic engagement events.
3) encourage and support grassroots activities focused on building stronger communities in the spaces where the members work and live.
